NGR Pty Ltd was formed in 2002 as an initiative between the leading agribusinesses of ABB and GrainCorp. Together these founding shareholders have funded the development and initial operation of the NGR system. NGR Pty Ltd continues to manage the NGR system.

ABB Grain Limited
ABB Grain is a leading Australian agribusiness with a multi-faceted operation and international focus. The company’s diverse range of services spread across the entire supply chain, including accumulation, storage, malt, processing, logistics, fertiliser, agricultural chemicals, financial services, marketing, ship chartering and trading.

New to the company in 2006 was the acquisition of seed specialist Graintrust in December, as well as the introduction of a Pastoral and Rural Services business unit concentrating on non-grain products and services.

ABB Grain’s history dates back to 1939 as the Australian Barley Board.  Following privatisation in 1999 and ASX listing in 2002, in 2004 ABB merged with South Australia’s storage and handling company AusBulk and its grower-owned holding company United Grower Holdings, to create the company that exists today.

GrainCorp Limited
GrainCorp Limited is a publicly listed Australian agribusiness and the dominant bulk commodity handler on the east coast of Australia. With a core business in bulk commodity storage and handling, GrainCorp also provides marketing, finance, merchandising and logistics.

GrainCorp has been through an extensive program of modernisation, geographic expansion and supply chain diversification, which included listing on the ASX in 1998; merging with Vicgrain in 2000, purchasing Allied Mills in 2002 in a joint venture with Cargill Australia, and most recently merging with Grainco Australia in 2003.
